Saving a Failed Project

Last summer I started making this little summer top for my youngest daughter, Meadow. For whatever reason (probably because she was just getting into everything) I never finished it. Now, of course, she's too big for it. I had already done shirring around the top, and hated to throw out my work, so I got to thinking how else I could use it. Here's what I came up with. A bag.

I actually like this better than the top I was making. I'm even planning to start making bags like this on purpose. So, if a project doesn't turn out the way you had planned, don't just scrap it. Get creative. You never know what you'll come up with.
