And Baby Makes Six

Hey y'all!

So, I mentioned in last week's update that I was expecting another child soon! I thought today I'd go into a little more detail about the news.

For those of you who don't know me very well, I already have three children and they are spaced out quite a bit age wise.  First is Becca-Lynn who is 12, then Meadow who is 9, and then Fletcher is 4.  I always wanted four children, but with the ones I have so spread out in age I was content to stop after Fletcher.

It's crazy really.  This past August we were in the process of buying a house.  It was a big move for us, and we were nervous.  While this was going on, I had also been seeing my doctor for some female health issues.  I don't want to go into a lot of detail, but I have had very painful, at times debilitating, menstrual cycles for nearly four years.  After having an ultrasound to rule out fibroids, my doctor referred me to a gynecologist to be evaluated for endometriosis and suggested a hysterectomy as I cannot tolerate any other form of birth control to ease my symptoms.

Literally just days before my appointment I found out I was pregnant.  I totally freaked at the time, because it was so completely unexpected.  Needless to say I had to cancel the appointment with the gynecologist and schedule one with the ob/gyn who delivered my last two children.

It even made us hesitate about buying the house because we had planned for me to work part time if necessary.  That is not an option now.  Staying in our tiny single wide with a baby on the way was not a good option either, though.  We only had two bedrooms and were squeezed to our limits.  We would have made it work if we had to, but thankfully we didn't have to!

I was extremely sick in the beginning with this pregnancy, but that has gotten much better.  I'm due May 22, so it won't be too much longer before baby is here.  I won't lie, I have been up and down emotionally for sure.  I love this baby, but it is different dealing with an unplanned pregnancy.  It's not always easy to be happy and excited.  One thing I'm glad we did, though, is to keep the sex a surprise.  It is giving me something extra to look forward to.  I can't wait to see if I'm having a girl or a boy.  It's also been interesting planning for a baby when you don't know the gender.  Maybe I'll do a separate post about that later on...

In the meantime I hope you are all doing well.  Have a great week and God bless!

**Edit**  I changed the title because I accidentally got it mixed up with another blog post planned for later in the week.  Check back Friday to see who our newest family member actually is!
