Wish App Review

Hey y'all!

So, I decided to try out that Wish app!  For those who haven't heard about it yet, it's a shopping app for your phone.  There are all sorts of items for sale and they are priced REALLY low.  Like $1 low for lots of things.  The catch is that everything ships from China, which takes a while, and the quality of the items isn't always the greatest. I had been seeing it advertised on Facebook, but it had a lot of bad reviews and comments. I wasn't comfortable shopping from a company I wasn't sure I could trust, but once my brother and my aunt had both told me they used it without incident I decided to give it a try.

So, I thought I would review the app and some of the items I've ordered so you can decide if the app is right for you!  And just so you know, all opinions are my own and I have not received anything for this review.  I'm sure the people over at Wish don't know me, or this little blog, even exists.

I think the first thing I will address is the shipping.  The shipping costs are very reasonable.  With that said, the shipping time is what most people complain about.  I actually didn't think the shipping times were that bad.  Most items estimated that they would take about a month to receive, and most things came earlier than estimated.  They even have tracking. Albeit, not the greatest tracking, but tracking still.  Also, you have to keep in mind this is not Amazon Prime and you don't pay $99 a year for two day shipping.  This is more like waiting for that prize you ordered from the cereal box as a kid, or the x-ray glasses and love potion you ordered from the back of a comic book or Tiger Beat magazine. (y'all did that too right?) Remember the whole "6-8 weeks"? except it's not even that long.  Plus, I kind of like the surprise of not knowing exactly when I'll get a package in the mail, so when I do it's a neat little surprise!

If you have a friend with these little packages lying around, they are a Wish shopper!  Almost everything comes in this same packaging.  I have come to recognize them easily! lol

One thing that did make me feel much more comfortable shopping with Wish, and what I probably should have mentioned first, is that you can pay with Paypal.  They also accept cards, but I had no desire to share my debit or credit card info when I can use Paypal.

The other issue is quality.  If you don't already know this about me, I'm cheap. Like, really cheap.  I will say, that as I get older I have learned that sometimes you do save money by spending more on quality, but I am still a sucker for dollar/discount/thrift stores.  I want nice things, but for certain items I am willing to compromise quality for price.  The items that I have purchased have fallen into that category.  They were all things I was willing to take a chance on.  So far I am happy with all of the items I have received.  Some even exceeded my expectations!

Here's the first item I ordered from Wish.  It was actually a free gift for joining and all I had to do was pay $1 shipping.

Even if I had paid it would have only been $2 total.  I ordered it in brown and here is the actual product I received.

Most people would probably think the strap is a little too tight, but I have small wrists and I love that it doesn't slip around on my arm.  It isn't as adjustable as some watches, but does have two snaps to choose from for size.  So, as far a fit, that is a personal issue.  The quality is good though, and it keeps good time.  The crystal is cracked, but that was totally my fault and it did not come that way.  It still works though, and I still wear it.

I don't want to make this post too long, but I do have several more items to share.  I'm hoping to make this a weekly segment, Wish Wednesday.  I will review more of my purchases in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back in!  I am by no means an expert on Wish, but if you have any questions be sure to leave them in the comments and I'll try to answer the best I can.  Also, I'd love to hear about your experiences with Wish.  Do you love it or hate it?  Do you have any must try items to share?  Let me know in the comments!

In the mean time I hope y'all are having a great week and God bless!

Jenny
